A gallery in an old seed warehouse
Gesso Art opened in October 2025 in a Victorian warehouse on the Margate harbour, with one room, one project space and six artists we believed in.
N° 01 — Who we are
We work with a few artists for a long time, and we show them properly.
Most galleries represent dozens of artists. We represent six. It means every exhibition gets the room, the time and the attention it needs, and every artist gets someone who knows their work as well as they do.
Everything we show is free to see. The gallery pays for itself by finding the work good homes: private collectors, public collections, and people buying their first painting, who we are always especially glad to meet.
N° 02 — How we work
Three things we will not change

Few artists
Six artists, long relationships and exhibitions that take the time they need. We add a new artist only when we can give them a proper show.

Free, always
No tickets, no booking and no suggested donation. The gallery is paid for by the work it sells, not by the people who come to look.

Made to last
We frame, hang and light every work as if it will stay, and publish a proper catalogue for every exhibition.
