Who we are
Gesso Art Ltd runs Gesso Art, a contemporary art gallery at 12 Fort Road, Margate, Kent CT9 1HF. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website, by email or in the gallery.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry or join the mailing list we collect your name, email address, the subject of your message, any work or artist you mention, and what you write. If you buy a work, we also keep your address, invoice details and the record of the sale.
When you browse the site we collect basic, anonymous information about visits, such as the pages viewed and the type of device used.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to you, to handle a sale or booking, and, only if you asked us to, to send our mailing list. We never sell your information and we never share collectors’ details with anyone without permission.
Our legal basis
We handle enquiries and sales because you asked us to take steps towards a contract, and we keep sales records because the law requires it. We send the mailing list only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
The website and its forms are hosted by Framer, which processes form submissions on our behalf. When you buy a work, we share what is needed with the artist, framers and shippers. Each of them must keep it secure.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for two years, mailing-list details until you unsubscribe, and sales records for six years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to us and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies it needs to work and to count visits. It does not use advertising cookies.
